Playroll is looking for a Payroll Analyst based in the Philippines to support accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll operations across the APAC region, with the potential to support additional global markets as business priorities evolve.In this hands-on role, you’ll help deliver and improve end-to-end payroll processes across multiple countries. You’ll work with Payroll, Operations, Legal, Product, Automation, and Service teams to ensure payroll inputs, calculations, controls, and country-specific requirements are managed accurately and consistently.You’ll contribute to accurate monthly payroll delivery across assigned markets, covering payroll inputs, statutory contributions, tax, employee lifecycle changes, reconciliations, documentation, controls, and issue resolution.
What You'll Do
- Support end-to-end monthly payroll delivery across assigned APAC and selected global markets.
- Gather, review, and validate payroll inputs, including new hires, salary changes, bonuses, leave impacts, deductions, terminations, and other lifecycle events.
- Review payroll calculations and outputs, investigate discrepancies, complete reconciliations, and help ensure payroll is ready for approval and payment.
- Maintain payroll calendars, checklists, trackers, calculation logic, validation rules, SOPs, and knowledge base materials for assigned countries.
- Work with Legal, Payroll Operations, Product, Automation, and Service teams to reflect country-specific payroll rules accurately in internal systems and workflows.
- Support statutory payroll obligations, including government-mandated contributions, tax and reporting requirements, filing deadlines, and local compliance processes.
- Respond to payroll queries and provide clear, timely support to internal teams.
- Support new payroll market onboarding and transitions from external providers to Playroll-managed processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll accuracy, controls, efficiency, and scalability.
What You'll Bring
- 2-5 years of experience as a Payroll Analyst or in payroll operations, payroll processing, payroll implementation, or a related operational or compliance role.
- Hands-on experience supporting end-to-end payroll processing, including inputs, calculations, validations, reconciliations, and employee lifecycle changes.
- Strong knowledge of payroll practices and statutory requirements in at least one APAC market.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate payroll issues accurately.
- Ability to manage multiple country payroll workstreams, deadlines, and stakeholder requirements in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Comfort working with spreadsheets, process tools, and payroll or operational systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office and strong Excel skills.
Bonus Points For
- Experience with Philippines payroll or multiple jurisdictions.
- Exposure to multi-country payroll, payroll implementation, in-sourcing, or provider transitions.
- Experience with Monday.com.
- Chartered Accountant, Bachelor of Commerce, or similar qualification.
- Comfort working with ambiguity and complexity.
